Vancouver, B.C. -- April 21, 2006, Aberdene Mines Limited (www.aberdenemines.com) (the 'Company' or 'Aberdene') (OTCBB: ABRM) is pleased to announce that Aberdene has appointed Mr. Geoffrey Goodall, P.Geo., as Exploration Manager to oversee the multifaceted exploration program currently being conducted on the Company's New York Canyon copper project. Mr. Goodall is responsible for the design, implementation and reporting of an estimated $3.65 million program currently underway on the property. Mr. Goodall brings more than 20 years of mineral exploration and development experience to the Aberdene management team. Most recently, his consulting firm was responsible for the discovery and advanced exploration of the Midway gold project located near Tonopah, Nevada. Mr. Goodall has extensive experience in base and precious metal systems including copper, gold and molybdenum porphyry and epithermal gold deposits. He has managed exploration programs for a number of major and junior mining companies including Newmont, Phelps Dodge, Placer Dome and Homestake.

On April 22, 2006, Michael Levy, host of CKNW's "Market Matters" radio show, will interview Aberdene's Exploration Manager, Geoffrey Goodall. The program will be aired at 11 AM Pacific Time on AM 980 and will also be profiled on www.marketmattersradio.com. Market Matters is broadcast nationally on CKNW and the Corus Radio Network, Western Canada's top News, Talk and Sports station, and will reach over 355,500 listeners every Saturday.
